Bookings:

Menu

There is no menu, the food served on any particular night will be informed directly by what is outside in that moment.

Our philosophy is to give you many small courses, the dishes distilled down to their essence, only containing what it needs to.

A sample menu can be seen here

Our service is informal, relaxed and fun.

The restaurant opens at 6.30pm for drinks.

Please arrive by 6.50 latest.

Dinner starts at 7pm.

Dinner takes approximately 3 hours.

Dress code is casual.

Pre booking of taxis is strongly recommended.

Prepayment:

We require full payment for food at time of booking, however you can get a refund (not within 72hrs of your booking date) if your plans change. Please see the terms and conditions on the booking site. The full tasting menu costs £75 per person.

We do not apply service a service charge to parties of 4 guests and under, however to any groups of 6 or more persons, a 15% discretionary charge will be added onto the total bill.

Dietary Restrictions:

Due to the size and nature of the kitchen we unfortunately cannot cater for gluten/wheat allergies.

Please contact us if you'd like to discuss further.

We can cater for vegan, vegetarian and most other allergies or dietary requirements, however, we must be notified at time of booking. If not notified until the day of the meal, you may have to miss some courses.

If we can't provide a pescatarian menu due to any possible supply issues, a vegetarian menu will be provided instead.

We only have a meat menu available unless another menu is pre-booked.

Drinks

We try to tell the same story with our drinks selection as we do our food.

An ever changing selection focussing what we believe to be great at  that time, weighing heavily on natural, organic, biodynamic & regenerative viticulture.

Alongside our drinks menu we serve a selection of 3 wine flights, a mixed alcoholic & a non-alcoholic flight.

We are proud to have been awarded White Star status on the Star Wine List for 2024. We were also nominated in the category of Sustainable Wine List of Year 2024.

You can view an example of our pairings here.

Sustainability

2nd logo.jpg

In the last year the restaurant has undergone some fundamental changes. We've added a farm and lab, giving us the ability to grow and preserve everything we serve you. We've also made the move towards being completely sustainable, a slow process but one we're committed to.

You can read about these projects below.

Wild Shropshire book

The Wild Shropshire cookbook is a 200 page overview/recipe book from our time at Ternhill Farm House.

It examines the restaurants ethos, the ideas behind the food and the dishes themselves.

This has been a collaborative effort between myself and the fantastically talented Nat Moore from The Photographers Table.

This is now sold out, however there will be a Kindle edition released soon.
